Michael grew up in southern California and attended California State University Northridge, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry. Subsequently, he went to graduate school at the Western University of Health Sciences, receiving his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. Most recently, he completed his Doctor of Medical Science degree in 2022 at the University of Lynchburg, Virginia.
With more than 13 years of practice in Emergency Medicine, Michael has had opportunities to practice in multiple locations in southern California. His initial training began at a high-volume county hospital for San Bernardino County, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he had practiced for eight years. Other hospitals he has been involved with following his time at Arrowhead were Long Beach Memorial Medical Center for ten years and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center for four years.
Professional interests of Michael include Lean projects, Point-of-care ultrasound, Cybersecurity for healthcare, emerging technologies (AI, 3D printing) in healthcare, and wellness programs.
